Freezing the dragon or the chilli willie`s

Leaving home at lunchtime heading for betty`s cod under gray skies and cold icy blasts we were wondering if anyone else would brave the elements .

When we arrived we were delighted to be greeted by Gino , Ana and Cris and two more of the Abergele bike crowd . There was a small very smoky fire in what looked like an old tin bucket that I was assured was a very serviceable bbq.

As the afternoon wore on more drifter mounted heroes arrived due to the fact that June insisted we go in the pub and my dreadful memory I cant be sure who arrived when so at the outset I must ask the readers forbearance for being scant with names.

Gino cooked delicious Polish sausages, which were made into lovely butties with mustard and bread generously supplied by Ana and Kris After satisfying the inner man we adjourned to the pub for an evening of high jinks and revelry.

Indeed the whole evening is somewhat hazy Indian John and Jan kept us excellently entertained, ably assisted by Ana and Krys the solitary photo I have of the evening is too blurred to use I must have enjoyed myself. Vague memories of Guinness and cider in one glass. Saturday morning arrived dry but cold as a witches t*t which helped to heal my throbbing head. Breakfast was enjoyed and we wandered from the hotel up to the camp to greet those of the hardiest who spent the night under canvas. Much sucking of gums and raised eyebrows at the variations on a drifter theme until the appointed hour arrived for the grand run out. This was a grand tour of the coldest places in North Wales. We covered around 150 miles around Snowdonia, ending up in Barmouth for a break around 4 p.m, .Joining us for part of the run was an old friend of mine on his newly bought classic and with a little encouragement has now joined the group welcome Dave swelling the numbers of North Walian doggies. Returning from the run we found lone wolf had arrived ensuring an evening of being assaulted by a small musical implement .

.

Moving to the front car park to assemble en masse for a foray into the wilderness

.

Leaving Betws y Coed after fueling up we traveled through to Llanrwst on to Nebo then via various back routes to the white water center for a quick break.

Leaving there we headed over something called the hellfire pass?? It was exceptionally scenic and extremely cold and quite breezy

After brief photo stop we headed on to Barmouth arriving about 4pm for a very late lunch. We found a café which did the nicest chips we have ever had big fat long monsters that were hot and not at all greasy

The evening was a tremendous success and to prove it here is Phil 11 pints relaxed. There were furtive discussions in one corner that may result in the expansion of the doggies musical entertainment ensemble so expect surprises in the future. Mention must be made of Lone Wolfs musical entertainment’s thank you kind sir from those who were aurally assaulted in your inimitable fashion. The weekend as a whole seemed to be a great success and was enjoyed by all despite the cold, doggies must be a hardy lot. Sunday meant sad good-byes and all that attended seemed keen to do it again soon. Thanks from Ana and Kris, Gino, Nigel and June to all that attended making it a super weekend.
