Hadrians Wall Drifter Rally

The Hadrian's Wall weekend is 8th -10th September 2006.
B&B is available at The Twice Brewed Inn (Tel 01434 344534)

Camping is available at Winshields farm Camp Site (Tel 01434 344243) ..with
full facilities at a measley £4.50 pppn.
Bunk accomodation (9 beds) is available for those who aren't bothered about privacy
Robin has already mapped out a ride, taking in the Wall, Scottish Borders and Kielder
Reservoir with a ride out over the dam.
Planned route -
1. From the twice Brewed Inn, head east along Military road and drop down into
Corbridge to pick up Signboy also taking in the oldest
bridge on the Tyne river which dates from about 1600 ish!
2. From Corbridge head out up A68 and cut Neast toward Rothbury, via Kirkharle,
Cambo and Forestburn Gate. (Tea and pee stop)
3. From Rothbury, head East then north though Thropton, Hepple and
Holystone to ALWINTON where it is intended to have a Pub lunch.
4. From Alwinton, head across the Military Firing Range (Providing
of course no firing is taking place) toward Byrness on the A68.
5. From Byrness, head North to Carter Bar (Scottish Border and Photo stop)
6. Over into Scotland bear NWest toward Hawick on A6088 before
doubling back South West toward Hyndlee, Singdean and Saughtree
before altering course South East toward Kielder Reservoir where
another Tea and pee stop will be performed along with a superb photo
opportunity on the Kielder Dam.
7. From Kielder, head South East toward Bellingham via Hesleyside.
8. From Bellingham, home toward Twice Brewed Inn via Wark and
Simonburn.
The run is guestimated at about 150 miles.
